Zone 18,  a community inside Guatemala City, is notably one of the most dangerous areas in Guatemala. This community is hurting in so many ways. There is a constant lack of safety and security and the zone is filled with drug/gang activities. Residents of this community have murder, robbery, and hunger as constant companions. All of these things adversely affect young children living in this community.

 

One Mission Guatemala was established in order to break this cycle! We hope to provide specialized, high-quality support for the children living inside this community. The goal is to feed the students at least one meal a day, ensure their safety and support them

academically. The Organization will offer an after-school program that will extend past school hours for an increased amount of instruction and activities to best support the child’s educational and spiritual growth. The Organization will partner with local schools in the community to assist with carrying out these efforts. For example, the Organization will have ambassadors in place in the school who will be ready to carry out the after- school program, the activities with the students and the meals. Every student in the Kyrios school inside Zone 18 of Guatemala City will be eligible for support from the Organization.
